הביאנלה בוונציה היא מאירועי האמנות הבינלאומיים הוותיקים והחשובים ביותר. לרגל הביאנלה ה-58, שנפתחה בחודש מאי ותמשך עד לסוף נובמבר 2019, נארח את ד”ר סמדר שפי ואת האמנית איה בן רון, נציגת ישראל בביאנלה.
סמדר שפי תתמקד בשני חלקי הביאנלה העיקריים: בתערוכה המרכזית אותה אוצר ראלף רוגוף ובה משתתפים 79 אמנים בינלאומיים, ובביתנים נבחרים מתוך 90 הביתנים הלאומיים.
איה בן רון תספר על ‘בית חולים שדה X’ – מוסד בינלאומי נייד וארגון שחוקר את הדרכים בהן אמנות יכולה להגיב ולפעול לנוכח רעות חולות וערכים שהושחתו בחברה.

Meet Dr. Smadar Sheffi and artist Aya Ben Ron, Israel’s representative to the Biennale

The Venice Biennale is one of the oldest and most important international art events. In honor of the 58th Biennale, which opened last May and would continue through November of 2019, we will host Dr. Smadar Sheffi and artist Aya Ben Ron, Israel’s representative to the Biennale.
Smadar Sheffi will talk about the Biennale’s two main parts: the main exhibition, curated by Ralph Rugoff, with its 79 participating international artists, and selected pavilions picked from the 90 national ones.
Aya Ben Ron will talk about “Field Hospital X” – a mobile, international institution, and an organization that investigates the ways art can react and act in the face of social ills and corrupted values.
